Virtual Event Info

In response to the transition from an in-person event to a virtual experience, this page will guide existing registrants on how to participate using our new virtual format.

Why did we decide to go virtual?

In response to COVID-19, the CoSN Board made the decision on March 11 to transform the previously scheduled in-person event to a virtual conference, CoSN2020: A Breakthrough Virtual Experience. Transitioning the conference to a virtual setting was a complex decision. First and foremost, this was done with consideration for our registrants’ safety based on official health recommendations from the government of the District of Columbia. Second, it was based on the understanding of what school system leaders are facing in their own community, including managing distance learning and local district policies restricting travel. For more information, view this notice from Pete Just, Chair, CoSN Board of Directors.

When are conference sessions and events?

  • May 12-14: Preconference workshops
  • May 19-21: All main CoSN2020 virtual events, including professional development breakouts, Spotlight sessions, keynotes, and sponsor sessions. Each day’s events begin at 11:00am ET and conclude at 7:00pm ET.

All session times are Eastern. Please plan for this when scheduling.

Where can I find the updated schedule of events?

Right here!

How do I access sessions?

Preconference workshop participants:

If you are registered for a preconference workshop, you should have received notification from our Professional Development team with information on how to participate. If you have not received any communciation, please contact registration@cosn.org.

Full Conference participants:

Links to secure Zoom sessions will be provided in the Conference Community, which you can access using the email you registered with and your unique password. More information will be posted shortly.

Can I add workshops to my existing registration?

Absolutely! If you couldn’t make it before, but are interested in participating in one of our many workshops, you can add them here. Please note that they require additional registration and fee.

I am not registered, but want to participate.

Registration is open for new virtual attendees. Visit our registration page for rates and registration form.

Will events be recorded?

The benefit of having a full virtual event is that we can record all sessions which will be posted for future viewing by registered individuals only in the Conference Community. Even if you miss a “live” session, you can watch and re-watch anything that you need to until the end of the year.
